popup-summerlineup-8halfx11-FINALDNA’s Pop Up Comedy Club is coming to downtown Santa Cruz in July at the Center Stage Theatre from 7/18–8/1!!

All shows are appropriate for ages 16 and up and tickets are available at

The series kicks-off on Friday, July 17 with a live recording session featuring The Santa Cruz Comedy Coalition, a troop of 30 local comedians who will perform their best five minutes of stand-up during two shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. A CD of the performances will be released later this year. Tickets are $10 at the door!

On Saturday, July 18, Larry “Bubbles” Brown takes to the stage for two performances at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. A star of the hit documentary, Three Still Standing, Brown has been performing for more than thirty years after getting his start at legendary San Francisco clubs The Punch Line and Holy City Zoo. The man with the deadpan, self-deprecating humor will present the West Coast premiere of his one-man show featuring slides, stories, memories and a felony or two. Submitted for your approval, Fringe Theatre presents the first ever Santa Cruz stage adaptation of Rod Serling’s TV classic, The Twilight Zone, complete with local commercials. Two episodes, The Howling Man (the One with the Mysterious Man in the Castle) and Midnight Sun (the One Where the Sun Crashes into the Earth) will be performed live by some of Santa Cruz’s premier actors. Directed by Miguel Reyna and produced by DNA, comics will perform during intermission. Performances take place across two weekends, July 24-25 and July 31-August 1. All shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

After the Twilight Zone, keep your seat and get ready for The Last Late Night Show, a macabre take on your favorite Late Night Show, complete with host, band and sidekick, but with a twist. It is the last night on earth! That is right, why die alone when you can die laughing with some of the funniest folks around? Mixing the absurdly scary with the insanely hilarious, this a must see comedy show. Catch this unique production featuring the stars of our local Santa Cruz and Bay Area comedy scenes.
